A successful bid for Arts Council emergency funding during lockdown allowed us to survive the interruption to our regular delivery in community centres. We were able to take time to develop our business model, improve our website and commission artists and film-makers to produce these free digital workshops for the growing and isolated online community.
There were 34 proposals from artists to run workshops and, sadly, we could only select seven to be filmed. Everyone involved benefited from the process and the final films can be found by clicking on the links below.
Hopefully, these sessions might spark your interest in our workshops in the future!
Feedback
Thank you for all of your help, guidance, and encouragement today and in the planning stages of the singing workshop. I enjoyed the day so much and you and Neil made the whole experience feel so relaxed and enjoyable. It was really a pleasure to have your input as a director and to hear Neil's feedback and advice too. I have learned a great deal from this whole project, particularly as a young teacher and performer who is still developing their style and ideas. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to explore and practice delivering this type of workshop in a digital format, and to have been able to share some of my singing experience. Today really reminded me how much I miss performing and interacting with people in a live setting! I really hope that the workshop and the whole 2020 Vision project receives great feedback. It is such an important and wonderful thing to be delivering, and it certainly looks to be the most viable option for keeping music, the arts, and creativity relevant in the coming months.
